Validinfo launched its digital verification service in Nigeria in 2020 and has grown to become the leading local fact-checking organisation, with dedicated journalists across the states in Nigeria. Our journalists monitor online content in local languages, from Yoruba, English, Hausa, and Igbo.
They take into account local cultures, languages, and politics and work with Validinfo bureaus national Act to investigate and disprove false information, focusing on items that can be harmful, impactful, and manipulative.
Their stories are edited in regional hubs and the national team is managed from Validinfo publishing headquarters in Lagos.
